"From a Railway Carriage"🚂🚂

Image
These are some snippets of the animated video of the poem "From a Railway Carriage" by S.L. Stevenson. The children of the 8th standard were quite excited to watch the video and they followed the poem and the explanation more attentively now as they already has an idea about the poem. I showed the video after completing the poem which made it easier for the children to understand more effectively and good.

School Spirit🔥

Image
A song on Students unity and the school spirit was presented by one of the students. The boy performed the song with such spirit that the children started singing along with him and it was quite engaging and pretty to listen to the sound of the entire school echoing the chorus line along with the singer.  Another speciality of the song was that the lyrics to the song was written by my guide at the school, most dearest Jagan Sir✨

A Skit on Nature✨

Image
A Skit was put up as part of the club inaguration programme on the importance of sustainable development and also awareness on the need to stop deforestation and poaching. Later, in class i asked a couple of my students to share their thoughts on the skit performed and they very aptly expressed their views which made me realise that they indeed was attentive to the theme presented on stage and are also aware of their duty to the environment and every other life forms on Planet Earth 💫 I, for one, felt really happy to hear them talk about environment and nature with such passion.

Weekly Report-2

Image
Last week was good one. First three days of the week, the students had their unit exams and we waited for them to do well for their exams and helped and supported the Students and faculty in every way we could. On Thursday, the children came back after their exams tired and needing a break and that's what we did. I conducted some language games in class hoping the children could actually relax a bit instead of getting into the next lesson so soon. On Friday, there was club inaguration and guests were invited from outside and the programmes and cultural activities were conducted brilliantly. The energy of the children throughout the program was really mesmerizing ✨. I felt proud to be able to teach such an amazing bunch of kids.

Happy together ✨

Weekly Report -1

Image
Another week at St. Joseph's school came to an end. The last week was quite interesting and exciting. Monday morning, i began with my next set of chapters for the 8th and 9th STD. After revising our previously learned chapters, we moved into the next chapter. I began 'Maternity' for the 9th STD kids and 'We are the World ' MJ'S most famous song, which i myself was quite excited to teach the kids.  'Maternity' talks about the sad life of people in refugee camps and also discusses the theme of love, care and motherhood. 'We are the World' also discusses the same theme. The themes of both the classes are in sync right now.  Every day was the same at school, except Thursday when we had the down assembly and it was quite interesting. The assembly was well organized and coordinated, it felt good and actually proud to be a part of the school. Quite grateful for all the experiences i received this week and looking forward to next week!💫

School Assembly at SJHSS💫

Image
School assembly at St. Joseph's school, Tvm✨💫. It was a perfectly good morning and when it was 9.15, the students were asked to come down in perfect order and stand in line for the morning assembly. The assembly was perfectly co-ordinated and i loved it so much. It's been really long since I've being a part of a good school assembly and watching it took me back to my old school days.  The motifs behind the assembly was two fold 1. The newspaper Deshabhimani was decided to be circulated in the school for the kids to read and learn about the current events. 2. Also, the winners of the "Reading day" events were congratulated and the prizes were distrubuted to them by the Manager of the SUT hospital, Pattom. A sports gold medalist was also congratulated and wished💫

Took the liberty to show this video in class with the aid of their projector and the students were quite excited to watch it. In this chapter, they learnerd a lot about Olympics and also the themes of the unit - Sportsmanship, motivation, hardwork, perseverance, Aiming high, encouragement etc.

Teaching practice began on June 5th at Stm Joseph's HSS, Tvm. Was quite excited for the day to be able to teach again and it was interesting ✨. Got to teach two classes yesterday- one 8th STD and one 9th. Both classes were interesting and different in their own way. It's being only two days and hoping to do better evry single day 💫
